2-Years Drug Ban For Vic Jockey Stead
Racing Victoria stewards yesterday suspended apprentice jockey Andrew Stead from riding in races for 2 years & riding track-work & in trials for 18 months, following a urine sample taken after he rode at Geelong on November 10 containing banned substances d-amphetamine & d-methamphetamine. Stead (who has 3 previous convictions for similar offences) was also told he would not be permitted to ride again until he satisfied stewards he has "completed drug rehabilitation & counselling courses". (Dec 12)

3-Months Drug Ban For Vic Jockey Anstice
Racing Victoria stewards yesterday also suspended jockey Jamie Anstice from riding for 3-months, following a urine sample taken after he rode at Geelong on November 10 containing banned substances cannabis & phentermine (an appetite suppressant). (Dec 12)
