Rock Ascot (ridden by Carlos Mendez for trainer Hayne Gonzales) defeated fellow 3YO colt Guru (Asidero-Carabella, by Ritz) & Querubin GG (Gulpha Gorge-Fade Frisa, by Fadeyev). Rock Ascot also won both 2007's Gr1 Gran Premio Jockey Club-Copa Nativa (2nd leg of the Uruguayan 3YO Triple Crown) over 2000m on dirt at Maronas & Listed Clasico Argentina (1500m on dirt) at Maronas. Kalaka Plick Wins Uruguay Gr1 Ciudad De Montevideo
Also in Uruguay, 4YO mare Kalala Plick (Plicck-Shy Ricachona, by Shy Tom) blitzed her rivals by 6.75-lengths in the Gr1 Gran Premio Ciudad De Montevideo (2000m on dirt) for fillies & mares at Maronas. Kalaka Plick (ridden by V.Martinez for trainer P.Cardozo) defeated Ancona (First American-Berimbau, by Carson City) & Potri Lucila (Potridoon-Vitalidad, by Vivaz). In 2007 Kalala Plick also won Uruguay's Listed Clasico Suprema Corte De Justicia (1500m) & finished runner-up in both the Gr2 Gran Premio Estimulo (2000m) & Listed Clasico Uruguay (1600m). Super Cat (ridden by Carlos Mendez for trainer J.Gonzales) defeated Secretarial (Sekari-Shy Fragancia, by Shy Tom) & Alcorano (Public Purse-Hit Oil, by Roy). Super Cat previously won 2007's Gr3 Clasico Asamblea De La Florida (2000m) & finished 3rd in the Gr2 Gran Premio De Honor (2800m). And in 2006 Super Cat won Uruguay's Gr1 Gran Premio Jockey Club (2nd leg of the Uruguayan Triple Crown series over 2000m) & then finished 3rd in the Gr1 Gran Premio Nacional (Uruguayan Derby & final leg of the Uruguayan Triple Crown over 2500m) & runner-up in the Gr2 Gran Premio Comparacion (2400m).
